Donations
We want to thank everyone throughout the years for supporting IVAL Boise. Below are some of our current needs.
Conservatively, 98% of all donations received support programs at our Idaho Veteran Homes. Not a penny goes to executive salaries, admin training, advertising, etc.

Haircuts
This fund provides personal grooming services for residents, including haircuts, cosmetology services, manicures, and pedicures. The goal is to ensure that residents receive quality grooming services, as this is not a service provided by the State Veterans Home. The restricted nature of this fund ensures that all contributions are used explicitly for these personal grooming services. Donating to this fund is vital to the well-being of the Veterans, as it helps preserve their dignity, self-esteem, and overall mental health. Many residents have limited mobility or access to outside services, and regular grooming promotes hygiene and fosters a sense of normalcy, comfort, and personal pride. Your support directly enhances their quality of life, showing appreciation for their service by ensuring they feel cared for and respected.

Activities
Per the Idaho Division of Veterans Services (IDVS), this fund was set up to allow Volunteer Dept. and Activity Staff to make purchases with a state-issued “Purchasing” card, following pre-approved programs and expenses. This includes outing food purchases at events, tickets, and food for social programs. The Activity Coordinator creates and keeps a budget of expected expenses, updated as needed to reflect the recreational needs of the veteran residents. When purchases are made with the purchasing card, copies of the budget – highlighting the expense are attached to the receipt and provided to the IDVS for monitoring.

Canteen
The canteen's primary purpose is to supply a mini store for residents that includes snacks, beverages, clothing, stamps, etc. Additional customers include staff, residents' families, State contractors, and staff from the VAMC (Veterans Affairs Medical Center). Donations subsidize the Canteen. This allows prices to remain at cost or lower. The fund is also a repository for those who want to ensure that veterans can purchase if they do not have personal funds to use.
