Welcome
We are honored to support our Veterans through the Idaho Veterans Assistance League (IVAL), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents of the Idaho State Veterans Homes.
Who We Are
Founded in 1988, IVAL collaborates with the Idaho Division of Veterans Services and the Idaho State Veterans Homes Administration to meet the needs of our Veterans that are not covered by the state budget. Through the generosity of private individuals, local businesses, and nonprofit organizations, we ensure that Idaho’s Veterans receive essential supplies, services, and opportunities to enrich their lives.
Donations
Conservatively, 98% of all donations received support programs at our Idaho Veteran Homes. Not a penny goes to executive salaries, admin training, advertising, etc.
Our Mission
IVAL is a coalition of representatives from eligible Veterans and civic organizations working together to leverage community resources to support Idaho State Veterans Homes.
"IVAL is a coalition of veterans and civic organizations dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for veterans in Idaho State Veterans Homes. We work collaboratively to provide resources that support their physical, emotional, social, and financial well-being—ensuring dignity, security, and fulfillment in their lives."
Our Veterans Homes
Idaho State Veterans Homes provides 24-hour skilled nursing care for Idaho veterans across four facilities: Boise, Lewiston, Pocatello, and Post Falls. The Boise home, established in 1966, is the largest, with 122 skilled nursing beds and a 36-bed assisted living unit. Due to upcoming construction, Boise currently limits residents to 80.

How We Help
IVAL ensures that our Veterans have access to additional support that enhances their dignity, security, and well-being. The impact of donations on our residents includes:
-
Basic Necessities – Providing clothing, hygiene items, and personal care products to indigent Veterans arriving with limited belongings.
-
Personal Services – Funding haircuts for residents who cannot afford them.
-
Medical Equipment & Comfort Items: We supply electric razors, diabetic shoes, wheelchair gloves, and other necessities.
-
Recreational & Social Activities—We organize community outings, cultural events, and activities that keep our Veterans engaged and connected.
-
Mobility & Accessibility Needs – Addressing transportation challenges, including a wheelchair-accessible bus to accommodate residents with electric and bariatric wheelchairs.
